For example, in Victorian England, children born outside of marriage was virtually unheard of. Now, because of TV and the Internet, the social changes just blow off the idea of having children inside of marriage. "Children during marriage? That's preposterous!" seems to be the current analysis of today's society.

2) Simple- we put them into the orphanage, where basically, they're forgotten about sometimes. But, those who are fortunate will be adopted, sometimes in to a loving home, or into a home that wants child labor.

3) My opinion is that they treat Oliver like that partly because of his mother, who was unmarried, and because he was the only one to ask for more, hence being seen by the overseers as questioning their care.Nathanielhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03410363074335776250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-914929152966832763.post-90280936286092690942012-03-24T18:27:48.700-05:002012-03-24T18:27:48.700-05:001. People are more aware of what is going on and they tend to not look the other way when an evil is done to a child.
2. We do not put them to work. We try to take care of them better. Some are still in an orphanage, but some go to foster homes as well.
3. Oliver, unfortunatly, is an orphan at a time when orphans are not valued, they are seen as a burden and used as chattel.ArmyReserveWifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09255737121047170435noreply@blogger.com
